I’m so sorry for all you’ve been through! This looks like a crazy ride for all of you, and I remember the stress from my own tube feeding days.

My daughter had an NG tube as well. I found and paid for research that shows how it interferes with swallowing. It also exacerbated her reflux. It just made eating uncomfortable.

I am concerned again because 100 mls is a small amount of food, relatively, with an extremely high cost: and NG tube, which inhibits comfortable, normal eating and causes trauma with each insertion, which is known to increase or cause eating aversions. The tube itself–the trauma and discomfort–may be preventing the growth you seek. Has she been given enough time without a tube (without being on vacation, in a setting where she is not disrupted)–that is what I am wondering…

Have you looked into the Graz method of tube weaning and the principles of healthy eating, based on autonomy and natural hunger?

I agree with amberself

have you read the literature at http://www.notube.at and http://tubefedkids.ning.com/ ?
